Junk removal in Washington

2 Junk Koala markets operate in Washington: Seattle and Tacoma. Each is run by a local operator with their own crew and trucks, booked through one system and held to the same standards.

Junk removal across Washington

Washington's two markets sit forty minutes apart and neither makes doing it yourself worthwhile. Transfer station fees, vehicle restrictions and a rental truck for the afternoon usually add up to more than the job, and most houses here put the load in a basement that opens onto a staircase. Tacoma has grown into a city in its own right faster than its disposal infrastructure has, which makes for longer runs to a site that will take a mixed load.

Sorting is expected in this state and we would do it anyway: yard waste, metal, electronics and reusable furniture all leave on separate routes, and usable furniture is offered on before anything is disposed of.

Winter here is rain rather than snow, and it changes the work more than people expect: a load left on a driveway for a week comes out heavier than the one that went on it, and wet cardboard and upholstery cost more to dispose of than dry. If a clear-out is coming, it is worth booking it before the pile sits out.
