Privacy Policy

How Junk Koala handles personal information collected through this website — written to describe what the site actually does today.

This document should be reviewed by counsel before launch. It accurately describes how the website currently behaves, but it has not been reviewed against the specific state privacy statutes that apply to your operating entity, and it will need revising once booking, accounts and payment processing go live.

01Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Junk Koala handles personal information collected through junkkoala.com.

It describes the current state of the website. Junk Koala is bringing its booking, quoting and customer account systems online, and this policy will be revised before those systems begin processing personal information. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

02Information we collect

The website collects personal information only when you choose to enter it into one of our forms. Depending on the form, that may include:

  • Your name and the name of your business
  • Email address and phone number
  • Service address, city, state and ZIP code
  • Details about the job you are describing
  • Your preferred appointment date
  • Any other information you choose to include in a free-text field

The ZIP code lookup on the locations page is processed to determine service availability. It is submitted as part of the page address when you use the finder.

We do not ask for payment card details, government identification numbers or account passwords anywhere on this website.

03Current status of form submissions

At present, no lead capture system is connected to this website. When you submit a form, the information is validated and then discarded — it is not stored in a database, forwarded to a third party, or retained by us.

The website tells you this directly on submission rather than displaying a confirmation message. If and when a submission cannot be delivered, you will be told so at the time.

This will change when the Junk Koala booking and customer management platform is connected. This policy will be updated before that happens.

04How information is used

Where information is collected and retained, it is used to:

  • Respond to your enquiry, quote request or booking request
  • Determine whether a Junk Koala team operates in your area
  • Schedule and carry out the service you requested
  • Contact you about a job you have asked us about
  • Assess an application to join the Junk Koala provider network

We do not sell personal information, and we do not distribute enquiries to a network of unaffiliated contractors bidding for your work.

05Cookies and tracking

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not use third-party tracking or advertising pixels.

The site loads fonts that are served from our own domain rather than from a third-party font service, so viewing a page does not disclose your visit to an external provider.

If analytics or marketing technology is introduced in the future, this policy will be updated and any consent required in your jurisdiction will be obtained before it is enabled.

06Sharing with others

Where information is retained, it may be shared with:

  • The local Junk Koala crew assigned to carry out your job
  • Service providers that operate our systems on our behalf, under contract and only for that purpose
  • Authorities or other parties where we are legally required to do so

Personal information is not sold, rented or traded.

07How long information is kept

Because form submissions are not currently stored, there is presently no retention period for them.

Once systems are connected, information will be retained for as long as needed to provide the service you requested and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and this section will be updated with specific periods.

08Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to obtain a copy of it, and to object to certain processing. Residents of some US states have additional rights, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — noting that Junk Koala does not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes.

Because form submissions are not currently retained, in most cases there will be no information for us to act on. You can still make a request, and we will tell you honestly what we hold.

To make a request, use the contact form on this website. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request about specific personal information.

09Security

The website is served over an encrypted connection, and information submitted through it is transmitted over that connection.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information — payment details, identification numbers or passwords — through the forms on this website. We will never ask for them here.

10Children

This website is intended for adults arranging a service. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will address it.

11Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as the Junk Koala platform develops, particularly before booking, accounts or payment processing begin operating.

When we make a material change, we will revise the date shown at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it when you use the site for something new.

12Contacting us

Questions about this policy, or about how your information is handled, can be sent through the contact form on this website.

Junk Koala is establishing its national office contact details alongside its first markets. Once a postal address and support line are published, they will be listed here and on the contact page.
